The original Fear Factor series is well remembered by those who watched the original run so it’s no surprise that it would be revived in some form. Will FOX have as much luck as NBC did back in the day? Will Fear Factor: House of Fear be cancelled or renewed for season two? Stay tuned.
A stunt game show, the Fear Factor: House of Fear TV series is based on the original Fear Factor TV show which debuted in 2001 and aired on NBC and MTV for a total of nine seasons. In this new incarnation, hosted by Johnny Knoxville, there’s a social component and a group of 14 strangers are dropped into an unforgiving, remote location. They live together under one roof, and face mind-blowing stunts, harrowing challenges, and a twisted game of social strategy where trust is fleeting — and fear is a weapon. Only one contestant will conquer all their fears and walk away with the $200,000 grand prize.

While these numbers don’t include further delayed or streaming viewing, they are a very good indicator of how a show is performing, especially when compared to others on the same channel. There can be other economic factors involved in a show’s fate, but typically the higher-rated series are renewed and the lower-rated ones are cancelled.
